About SBG Environmental
SBG Environmental Corp. is a Brooklyn mold company. We remove mold, find the moisture behind it, and test the air, so the problem gets fixed once and your home has clean air again.
Who we are
We're based in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, and work across all five boroughs. Our clients are homeowners, tenants, buyers, landlords and managing agents, from single apartments to large buildings.
Every report is written from what was actually found on site and signed by a New York State licensed mold assessor. If something couldn't be determined, the report says so.
Licensing
In New York State, mold assessment and remediation are licensed by the Department of Labor under Labor Law Article 32. Our reports are signed by a New York State licensed mold assessor under NYS DOL license 25-61YK1-SHMO.
Anyone can check a mold license with the NYS Department of Labor Mold Program. We suggest you do it for any company you hire, us included.
Our equipment
The same tools on every job, listed in every report:
- Visual inspection: Visible mold growth, moisture damage and staining, signs of active or previous leaks
- Thermal imaging: FLIR C5 camera, to find temperature anomalies that can indicate moisture
- Moisture meter: Protimeter Surveymaster, field-checked with the manufacturer's 18% check device
- Temperature and humidity: Extech HD500 psychrometer / IR thermometer
- Air sampling: Air-O-Cell spore trap samples, analyzed by a third-party laboratory
How we work
- Moisture first. Mold needs water. Every job deals with the leak, condensation or humidity behind it.
- Clean, contained work. Work areas are sealed off and the air is HEPA-filtered, so the rest of the home stays clean.
- In writing. Findings, readings, photos and next steps, with who should do each one.
- Nothing hidden. You get the price before we book, and lab reports are attached in full.
